Yeezus' Wife
by Jameka Williams
when asked what do you actually do
I pray for my maids their gods
have more debt than my god
my god has more favor more
sex appeal do not misunderstand
I take time for myself burning
my silk sheets one thread at a time
I call the President & ask money
corrupts absolutely I chew TV
noise & eat expensive corpses
there’s a particular way in which
men are hypnotized click me
press your hard thumb to my lips
or décolletage & you think you’ve
burned a cross into my forehead
you think my various holograms
are possessed fucking the camera’s
brains loose but honestly my spare
time is spent focusing my energies
on not disappearing: I count the pixels
of my breasts I tolerate my reflection
I sweat the calories from my heart
I buy my corset & coffin wholesale
I give shit away I let my husband
serenade my vagina I sing lullabies
to my children long after they’ve
faded I edit the martyrdom I remove
the cameras from my home I invite
cameras back inside I leak to the lenses
drown.
