a gender
by nat raum
tomorrow i will love myself away
from the comfort of the dark, outside
the mind-float that comes with enough
terpinolene and magnesium. goodbye
beauty, goodbye body—this is
the euphoria to which i aspire.
i want to split into particles like fog, soak myself
up with the sun. i want to exist and be
nothing still, a shared basis of body
among us all where gender starts
at null and accumulates over time.
but i am still so sublime in this waning
winter afternoon; i’d hate not to
suck the marrow out of this feeling.
